Abuse desk
If someone is using an Omucloud address to send you spam, phishing, fraud or anything harmful, tell us. A person reads every report, and the periods below are the ones we hold ourselves to.
Where to send it
Forward the message, with its headers, to abuse@omucloud.co. You will receive an acknowledgement with a reference number within minutes. If you would rather not email, use the contact form and choose “Abuse or spam report”; it reaches the same desk.
Mail server operators and blocklist maintainers may also write to postmaster@omucloud.co.
What happens next
We acknowledge a report within one business day of its arrival at the abuse address, and we complete our assessment and take any action we decide on within five business days. Where a matter needs longer, we tell you so within the same five business days, with the reason. Business days are those in Singapore.
Where the activity is substantiated we act on the account responsible, which may mean stopping it from sending, restricting it, or closing it. A suspended account cannot delete itself while the suspension stands, and we keep the record of what it sent so that we can answer you, and any competent authority, about it.
We will not tell you who holds the account. We will tell you what we did.
Treated as urgent
These are reviewed on the day they reach us and acted on as soon as the activity is substantiated, without waiting for the periods above.
- Fraud or phishing that appears to be underway
- Child sexual abuse material
- A credible threat to anyone's life or safety
- A direction from the Police or the Online Safety Commission
What to include
A report is most useful when it lets us identify the account without writing back to ask.
- The full message headers, if you have them. In most mail clients this is “Show original” or “View source”.
- The address the message came from, and the address it was sent to.
- The date and time you received it, and how many you have received.
- What happened as a result, if anything did — a payment made, an account accessed, a person harmed.
Authorities
A direction or a lawful request from the Singapore Police Force, the Online Safety Commission or a court should be sent to the same address, and is treated as urgent. We comply within the period the direction states and keep a record of having done so. Requests for account information must name their legal basis.
If it was your account
If sending from your account has been suspended and you believe that is a mistake, tell us what the account is used for through the contact form. Your mail and history are unaffected while we look.
